Hello Blog World and Friends!
I just wanted to give you all an update on my volunteer position at NewSpring Church (www.newspring.cc). I truly love what I am doing right now. I have been welcomed into the ministry at the church in the area of discipleship. I have been serving full time at the church for about 3 weeks now and my job everyday has been different, but every job has been fun and exciting. I love where the church is at right now. They as a church have been great in the area of evangelism, but in the area of discipleship there has been a lot of gaps. Within the last few months, the focus has been on discipleship and they are putting a lot of energy in this area. I have been already part of some brainstorming sessions and have been invited to be part of another one or two next week. I love these meetings! The goal is to help someone who is a new believer to take another step in their walk with Christ.
Yesterday was an awesome day for me. I had the opportunity to communicate with 14 churches around our city here in Anderson, SC and ask them what they were doing in their local church to serve the community. My goal was to find holes or gaps in where churches were not yet serving. The response was awesome. Every church that I talked with was excited and wanted to be part of the conversation and help come together as ONE CHURCH and meet whatever needs have not yet been meet in this community. I was so excited after every phone call!
I have also been emailing people who have been interested in Baptism as their next step and this past Sunday, NewSpring Church baptized 110 people! That was not a typo! 110 people said publicly that they were following Jesus!
I love what I am doing here! Thanks again to all those who are supporting us and making this possible. The Kingdom of God is moving forward!

Joel and Amy,
We are so proud of you and find you so inspiring to "walk the walk" to know what it truely means to step out in faith and follow through. It is so scary, and you guys did it! Thank you for being a light in this dark world, and for inspiring other Christians to step out! love you guys!
Hey Joel and Amy! I'm so excited to hear what God is doing through you and for you! Praying God's blessings on you as you continue to enjoy this awesome journey! Love you!
