God shared with me an idea just a few minuites ago, but I first want to share why I believe it was God that was speaking and not me or just another idea.
1) It was at 12:28am!! I don't believe my mind can function well enough that late to take credit for anything like this, in this much detail.
2) It is in the common flow of when God has been speaking to me since last Thursday night. God is speaking to me in a specific tone right now, it is kind of hard to explain, but I know that it is not "my" inner voice telling me a thought.
3) This is way too creative and not like me. I have thought of some pretty random/cool things in life, but this, I have to say that God is creative and is trying to reach a group with today's technology.
4) I have a peace about following through with this even if it is a flop. The very thing that God is working one me right now is about being seen and notciced in a "positive" way. If I follow through with this (and I will), there will be a cost. Some of my "friends" in the Facebook world will not be looking at me with the eyes that I desired 2 weeks ago. This is a burden that will probably come with a cost, but that cost is worth it for Him.
Those are just a few thouhts on why I believe this is from God and not just me....
With that said, here is the idea!
I have Facebook and right now, I have 627 "Friends". The thought was to create a blitz church/ministry and announce it 1-3 hours before we go out into the city and then invite whoever desires to out with us. The idea is to meet in a central spot and share a word about the life of Christ and then live it out in a practical way right there with whoever shows up. The though/vision also came with a picture vision of hundreds of people showing up and blessing a city in the name of Christ. I believe that the word would spread to the point where if I posted on my wall, "City Blessing--- Meeting in Railroad Square in Santa Rosa in 3 hours (12:20pm) anyones welcome" that would grow into an understanding with Facebook and individuals inviting whoever spontaniously to come.... I see a church in action with people coming that I have never seen before, but who are already in relationship with someone related to or friends with one of my 627 friends.... does anyone get this? Here is the vision/idea....
Any thoughts in how to launch this via Facebook? I know that the first one might have one or 2 people, but I believe this would grow with passion.
