Have you ever been so in tune with God speaking that you just expect and anticipate that He will speak? I was hearing last night before I got into bed that Amy and I should anticipate hearing from God this week. I think there are a few things that happens when we anticipate something.
1) We look out for it- When we are anticipating something happening, we will be on look out for it. Many times in our walk with Christ, we loose this concept of being on the lookout for God's action and voice. When we anticipate something, we are actively looking for something to be done or said.
2) We engage in community- When I know that something good is about to happen, I want to share it with people. I don't personally like going into things without having other people around me to share the "coolness". When God speaks, I generally am more drawn to community.
3)It stirs FAITH- If I am anticipating my friend Billy Bob to do something, that is one thing, but when I am anticipating God to do something, inside my body I start to believe that the impossible can happen! Philippians 4:13 says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. It does not say that I can do SOME things, but it says all things. When God is speaking, it in general stirs faith in the for the impossible!
