So my wife teaches Second Grade and she came home with a sheet of paper that helped me learn a lot about Solitude... it was all about why trees loose their leaves.
Here is what it said...
"Trees look dead in the winter, but they are not. They look dead because they loose all their leaves. They loose their leaves to help themselves when it is cold. It would not be good for trees to have leaves in the winter. A tree needs to keep water in its trunk, branches, and leaves all the time. A tree loses a lot of water into the air through the leaves. The roots bring water up from the ground. In the winter, the ground freezes. The roots cannot get the water from ground then. If the tree had its leaves in the winter, it would lose all its water and die. So the tree must lose their leaves before winter comes."
If the tree did not experience solitude from its leaves, the tree would die.
We can make excuses all the time to be with people and keep busy all the time, but there is a time and a point where we just need to get alone with God without distractions. Jesus did that all the time and it gave him power. Look for yourself, almost anytime that we see Jesus 'getting alone" with His Father, the next thing we see is usually a miracle. there is POWER in solitude. You might argue that you, yourself will not die, but you spirit might die without that inimacy with God.
Get alone with Him and spend that needed time alone with you Papa-Jesus. You will find that it will give you power and strength like never before. You can accomplish a lot in those moments alone with God more than what you could do without that "quiet time" with God.
